More than 25 years ago Greg Butler started in discount retail with one simple goal "find great products and sell it cheap". 

When Greg started Christmas Discounters he opened 2 locations for the Christmas season only, 1 in Charlottetown and the other in Montague. Soon customers were asking for a location that they could shop all year long. The first permanent  Discounters location opened in Summerside and today there are Discounters locations in Montague PEI ,Stratford PEI, Moncton NB.

Permanent stores have continued to expand in both size and product selection to meet our customer’s needs. Deals and products can range from $1 to $200 in such categories as housewares, hardware, party, footwear, bedding, clothing, confectionary, seasonal, promotional goods and a whole lot more. New items are arriving all the time and you are never sure what bargain you may find.

Due to the great success of those first two seasonal Christmas  locations and the support of our customers these days you can find as many as 10 seasonal  Christmas locations throughout N.B., N.S. and PEI from September through January. These seasonal locations offer many of the same great products that are offered in our permanent Discounters locations with a greater focus on products ranging from $5 to $20, related to Christmas gift giving and decorating.

It is exciting to find great deals that you know customers will love, and to do this Greg looks at all of the traditional sources of goods but also goes that extra step to look at sources of product that most retailers never consider, such as bankruptcies, cancelled orders, manufacturing package changes and more.

Another way to save our customers money is to cut out as many middleman as possible. To do this Greg travels directly to warehouses, manufactures and importers to make deals directly with management.

What keeps our customers returning is our focus on great products, fantastic prices and constantly bringing in new products and deals.
